I am curious as to what you think the value of my system is;

two 12" Orion H2.2
one Hifonics Colossus XI 2400w RMS @ 2 ohm X 1
one custom vented box

I am thinking about selling and im curious what you think i could get for it

Oh yeah, im planning to put it up on e-bay seeing as i live in a small town and no one wants it here

Take original price of all, cut in half. Then deduct accordingly for each scratch on the amp and for each gouges and dents on the box.

Well I paid 690 for the box and subs about a month ago so there are no scratches and no dents in the box....and i paid 575 for the amp....but that was a deal.....so your saying my whole setup is worth less than $500? that doesnt seem right

As soon as you start bumpen your new stuff its values falls, Plus how the market is new stuff is allways coming out which knocks it down futher, I say it might be worth about 700-800 used depending on how it looks. Car audio is not something that holds value real well. espisaly the products that you have. More high end stuff does like, jl, older ppi, mackintosh and sush.

It's car stereo equipment... It's not a fine wine or real estate, therefore, it does not appreciate in value...

for amps and subs, half of retail at most if the equipment is mint. amps and speakers are really high margin items with lots of markup. decks/headunits work on slightly less margin, so it would depreciate a bit less.

look on ebay for the price of the new in box stuff and adjust your price accordingly. since ebay/grey market/items from unauthorized internet dealers are priced at a small percentage over cost, you need to keep in mind the potential buyer might opt to spend a little more to get something "new" rather than your old stuff which could have been possibly abused.

it may sound evil, but sell it to a friend that has heard it, wants it, and doesn't know what he should be paying for it.

If you're investing in car audio, you're only doing it for your own benefit, because you WILL lose money on resale, unless you find the right person to sell to

Arguable still. I just sound a $1000 retail set of speakers for 470$ brand new in the box. Mcintosh yes, but jl and ppi? Not so much imo. Even with mc it's still pretty ridiculous.

Ebay sucks for sellers
