Cleaned EGR, now eratic idle and ticking - Help!
I was having power loss issues (similar to the countless threads on here).
Decided to clean out my EGR valve, pulled it out sprayed some carb cleaner in there and in to the port leading in to the manifold (under the valve).
Put the EGR valve back on and started the car. Now my idle jumps between 400-500 and 1000 back and fourth evey second. Also, there is a ticking noise when I accelerate the car.
The jumping idle stops if I press the gas a bit or if I have the AC on which idling.
Any ideas?
Again these problems were not present before I cleaned my EGR valve. BTW, the power loss feels the same as before.
Should point out, I have a 93 SRV (Si vtec in the States) with a swapped in JDM H22A

I don't know why a loss of power would point you to the EGR system. Somehow, you have created a LEAN idle mixture. Could be a small vacuum leak. If there is no vacuum leak you may be able to correct the idle problem by turning IN the idle adjustment screw located at the top of the throttle body.
If your EGR system is working .. you should be able to just about stall the engine, at idle, by sucking on the vacuum line and opening the EGR valve. (assuming the EGR valve actually works. If it doesn't work it will throw a trouble code) If that has no effect on the idle the ports into the intake runners need to be cleared.
If I had a sudden power loss issue, the first place I would go to would be the ignition system.
