This covers how to use your OBD2b civic EX engine harness with an obd2 vtec B-series swap. This may work with LX / DX harnesses also, but for those you will have to run the three vtec wires.

As, you have noticed if you have been searching for this post, the plugs on an OBD2 DOHC vtec dizzy are different from the dizzy plug on the OBD2b civic engine harness. The dizzy has 9 wires and the engine harness has 8 wires. HOLY CRAP!!!! you're in for some shnizzle here..... NOT...

See the pictures for reference if your dizzy has different colored wires. My dizzy was an OBD1 dizzy redone with an OBD2 plug and it blew my mind....

Basically what you are trying to do is matching up the colors. As for that extra lt blue tach wire on the dizzy, you twist it together with the ignitor wire and connect it to the yellow/green stripe wire on the engine harness.

THE TWO BIG PLUGS ARE 9-POWER AND 10- TACH. NOTICE THIS IS NOT A PIC OF THE PLUG ON THE DIZZY, BUT ON A MATCHING ENGINE HARNESS... JUST USE THIS AS A REFERENCE TO WHICH PLUG ON THE DIZZY IS WHAT....





FOR REFERENCE- I THINK HE MIXED UP THE LT BLUE/DK BLUE CUZ MY CKP+ IS DK BLUE AND TACH IS LT BLUE......
