b16 transmission vs. b18 transmission
i searched all the faq's and i couldnt find this one... i got a b18 with a b16 transmission and when im on the highway im revving 4500 at 80 mph. a guy wants to trade me for a b18 ls tranny. should i do it....would swapping them out be better for highway driving...cause thats all i do and i dont like the motor reved that high for long amounts of time.
If you don't plan on racing then go for it. I daily drive with a B16 tranny. It sucks when cruising on the highway but whatever
Shorter gearing is better for acceleration.
Which "B18" is this anyway?

ls has long gears so yes your rpms will be lower at highway speeds.
However expect to see a decline in acceleration. I to drive with a b16. I personally do not mind the high rpm's while driving on the highway. Took a while to get use to it tho.

yes, if you want lower rpms and not looking to race then you should do it, b16 have shorter gears than the b18b tranny's do.
