If you don't plan on racing then go for it. I daily drive with a B16 tranny. It sucks when cruising on the highway but whatever

Shorter gearing is better for acceleration.

Which "B18" is this anyway?

ls has long gears so yes your rpms will be lower at highway speeds.

However expect to see a decline in acceleration. I to drive with a b16. I personally do not mind the high rpm's while driving on the highway. Took a while to get use to it tho.

yes, if you want lower rpms and not looking to race then you should do it, b16 have shorter gears than the b18b tranny's do.

Would this be the same with a tranny out of a D16Y8?

If thats what you want to do trade him, but he will owe you some cash for the trade. Your transmission is worth more than his.
