Default Main Relay Compatability

I'm almost positive the main relay is going bad in my 92 Si b/c the car will ocassionally turn over but not start, however if I smack the dash (under the steering column) it fires right up. I know that the solder points can crack over time so I am going to try to re-solder them. I have an H23 but I was wondering if a B-series relay would work, just in case my relay is beyond repair? I have searched the forum for an answer but can't find anything.

If you really want to fix the main fuel relay, you need to UN-SOLDER the board and remove it. Then snap off the plastic covers, now you can get to the actual relay points. They are pretty small but if you have a set of those little files, you can clean them up. Then re-solder the board.

Unless there are shorts in the relay windings, you will have a "like new" relay.

People who have had success in simply re-soldering the board probably would have had the same success by simply un-plugging and re-plugging the connector. The idea that the factory solder joints have gone "cold" doesn't make much sense.

In other words...it's more likely that a CONNECTOR connection went bad than a solder joint.

Is it possible to use Mitsuba RZ-0159 instead of 0139 ?
I also have a main relay problem, tried to resolder mine, thought it was OK as I didn' t have starting issue anymore but lately my car just shut off suddently in the middle of the road last week.
It didn' t happened again since I swap the main relay with the one from my second lude.
