I searched around and it seems like everyone is getting around 13 gallongs in their gas tank.. but when i fill my car up when the gas light comes on.. i only still get 9 gallons in there????????

ALSO the gas needle on my gauge only goes up half way???

The tank definitely holds 13.2 gallons. Sometimes the warning light comes on when it still has four gallons in it. Keep driving a while after that and you can fill it with more than 9 gallons.

 

11.2 is most i've ever had filled with, youd be suprised how the light really doenst mean your out.

 

well in my case the light goes on when i have about a gallon left, and i fill up with 10.5 gallons, i heard DA's fill up with 13.5 and dc2 with 10.5

 

The most i filled up my tank to is 12.9 gl. When my gas engine light turns on, i have about another gallon left......

 

ha mine is 12.8, real close

 

I've ran it more on purpose without actually running out but i still can't get close to 13.2.....lol

So my gas tank is messed up then right? I usally drive about 50 more miles after the gas light turns on.. then i fill it up and its 9 gallons.. i wonder how that could be?? HELP!

The most I've put in is about 12.6gal and I really thought that was pushing it. I don't like doing that, just in case. And yeah, every where i have read says 13.2 gallons.

 

i dunno if this helps but my accord is suppose to be have about a 17 gallon tank but even when i drive close to 80 miles after the light comes on i cant get more like 14 gallons in

 

i had a thread up here bout a month ago. I topped off my tank at an arco at 14 gallons with my LS. Probably the gas station ripped me off and gave me less

 

LOL My gas light only came on twice and both times I had a gallon left. Its amazing how hitting "E" means nothing. I will hit "E" and still have 3-4 Gallons left.

For real, my needle has been on E for days before, and never got the gas light

Most I've pumped is 10 gallons.

if you fill your tank until it stops, and the gauge only goes to half, then yes, something is messed up.

 

ya there is an issue with your gauge for sure. I have a DA and get about 13 depending on how far i test the light!!

 

when my light comes on i have to put in about 10.2-10.4 gallons. i normally fill up right as it comes on or when teh needle gets close to the e. and i put in 9.9 or 10 in. the most i have ever put on was 10.6 gallons

 

i guess the OP has a sensitive sensor, its all so your engine wont suck in air and the dirt the bottom of the gas tank has,

 

o read that the gas light will come on at 2.2 gallons

 

running that low on gas is not very good for your fuel pump, because it is supposed to stay submerged in fuel to cool it

the dc2 tank is 11 gallons with a 2.5 gallon reserve

the reserve is the fuel in the fuel pump, lines, filter, fuel rail and return line

 

Unplug your cluster and manually/nicely move the gas guage a bit to the right.(if you know you have a full tank. When I fill up my tank with 9gal it puts the gauge in between 3/4 and full.(almost dead center of those 2). I've been to lazy to expletive with it...
