I have a 92 gsr with AEM cai, would I be able to cut the pipn and make it a short ram setup? without problems? tia

 

no problems, but loss of horsepower, so I'm told.

 

A little more low end but some loss on the top. Why you going short?

 

I was thinking of doing this for next winter and then putting back the full pipe for summer. Is this possible...

 

sure, just cut the piping.

 

Just cut it, and by a 2.75 ID connector. Options sales the AEM one for 10 bucks. I have a second filter (new K&N) that I use when I pull off the bottom of the CAI.

I just noticed you have a g2. Measure the diameter, then order your stuff.

 

cut it and install a bypass valve next spring/summer to reconnect the bottom half of the piping. just take your time ad cut the piping as straight as you can so it all lines up as good as it does currently.

 

That bypass valve isn't the greatest thing in the world. They may have fixed the problem by now, but the foam has a tencency to rip out and go into the throttle body. Not to mention the bypass valve drops HP numbers by a few.
