I recently picked up a hood for my 98 civic, but the fitment was not correct. I believe that they are for a model 01+. Are there any ways that i can find out which model the hood would fit for ? Its a brand new VIS carbon fiber hood. My friend gave it to me and he doesnt know much about cars.

 

well if you find out and its 01-03 i will buy it from you. Let me see some pics i might be able to tell

the only way i can think to get numbers is do it your self

 

i just measured my 99-00 hood and it was 49 by 55 inches and the other hood which i believe to be 01-03 is 50 by 59 inches. please confirm me on this. i doubt its a 03-05 hood but theres a chance.

 

i have an 03 and my sister has an 04 ...so i could get both those measurement for ya tm...if ya want

 

Are you sure the hood isn't a 99-00 item? The headlights and fenders are a slightly differnet shape.

 

if you post a pic, just by looking at it i can tell you what car it is from (96-05 civic only)

it doesnt fit on my 98 civic for sure. and 99-00 civic hoods are just an inch or two wider. this hood is 59 by 50 inches. help me out guys =]

That looks like a Subaru WRX hood, if you ask me.

 

i'm gonna go with matt on this one.

notice the top edge by the washer nozzle things how rounded it is. the civics are almost straight across. and also i havent seen a "wrx style" cf hood for the civics, and if so i duno who'd get one.

so i'm gonna go with matt on this one and say thats a subaru hood

PS. I know it's Seibon, but the image ties in closely with how the picture of your hood was taken.

 

Any chance of a picture of the front edge, with the hood layed down flat? Just to get an idea of the shape around the headlamps.
