Default just painted my car ???

I just recently got my car painted, at a very respectable shop, I payed 3500 for the car to be repainted milano red and the jdm front end put on my dc2. But I don't know if I'm being to picky but there small details that weren't done right, such as small bubbles in the paint , there very hard to notice unless your really examine the car. Also I was trying to get out of my car in a tight area and I hit the wall but very I mean very softly and when I go to look, it chip. can that be the car wasn't paint right because it chipped so easly? let me know thanks

Call up the company and ask if they can do anything about the air bubbles, and let them know you dont like how it chipped so easily.

I recently had my gs-r painted and the first time the guy was done with it I could notice places that were messed up. I then told him and he repainted the car. When I got it back after he repainted it, it still had places on it that werent perfect. I foolishly didn't say anything after the second time and I have regreted it ever since. This was a very respected place also, but if your car has defects then they didn't do it right. You are paying $3500 for it. Don't be scared to tell them you want it fixed and tell them how easily it chiped. C ya

if you paid that much then you have every right to complain about every little thing they did wrong.

i got no experience in body work, but i got a good friend who does. his answer to this question would basically be the prep work. the car wasn't prepped well which could lead to all kinds of flaws. so basically to get it right the way you want it, the paint has be to stripped and the whole car has to be repainted.

hope that gave you some insight

Take it back and tell lthem you will take it to court if they dont redo it right. Let them know you will bring it back again if it still isnt right.

does sound like prep work wasn't done right. granted perfection is hard to achieve but for 3500 dollars it should be close.

yah.. chipping easily would be a problem with prep work. And as far as the fish eyes/orange peel and stuff like that - thats work thats done after the car is painted (wet sanding and buffing) For how much you paid, you should have gotten a better work. It sounds like they did it quickly

i agree that it is the prep work, sometime they overlook the wet sanding and priming of the whole car. if this happen, then the paint will slowly chip off. air bubble might be dust underneath the paint. i say tell them to redo it, and it doesnt hurt to check on your car and them from time to time.

The air bubbles may actually have not been their fault. Me and my dad just painted my bg-33p gsr black and we ran into some MASSIVE problems. (my dad has painted many times before btw) One problem we ran into was an INSANE amount of orange peel. In some spots, we went through the clear AND paint just to try and get most of the orange peel out. My dad thinks its the paint store fault. He told them he wanted a gun that would produce a nice paint finish and sprayed well. So he forked over ~200$ for a gun...it turns out they had a PRIMER tip on it. Boy was my dad pissed. Another problem we had was also some air bubbles like urs. We concluded the problem was either a bad batch of clear, or the reducer we got was the wrong one and dried to fast before all the air could escape. The reducer would have also been the problem for the INSANE amount of orange peel.

Now we have to repaint the hood, reclear quite a few parts, and touch up a few other areas. I spent 1,000 in paint and the car looks like **** now, but should look decent when its done. BODY WORK/PAINTING SUCKS.

No job for 3500 including instalation of jdm front end will be perfect. Now if u say u paid 5gs, then i would say go back and they should take care of it for u.

Take some pics of it for us to see how bad it really is.

i work as a body man. at my shop, if a customer complains we just ake them happy. so basically if they want a 600$ single stage paint job and they complain, we tell em to go expletive themselves unless its something easy we can fix. for any base/clear paintjob that we do which is normally 2g's and up, we do everything we can to make the customer happy. if it needs to be repainted, the repainted it will get. for 3500, the shop will def listen and maybe fix it if its as reputable as u say. -dan
