have any of you guys snap your stock axles with just an intake, stage 1 clutch and power shifting? how strong are type r axles and how much can they handle when slipping the clutch and power shifting?

Stock honda axles can handle a lot of power if you know how to drive. Sounds like you need to learn how to drive.

Snapping axles would be the least of my worries if you were power shifting. Poor tranny

your friends aren't snapping axles "power shifting" they're snapping them drag launching in adhesive called VHT...

Is the car lowered? Too low? If the car is slammed yO, you are more likely to snap an axle...

stock axles will handle hundreds of horsepower just fine. if you are just dumping the clutch at 9000 RPM, the drive line shock is going to break something. just about any axle will break with that sort of treatment. and if the car is lowered substantially, that also could lead to breakage.

Yeah, I raced with about 300 WHP on stock axles, they lasted a long time until one of them started to shudder (65000 miles, maybe 20 autox's, 15 HPDE's and a race). I'm on new NAPA axles now

Don't abuse your tranny, there really isn't any point to power shift.

Axles ultimate stress comes from your clutch strength and tire adhesion. A good clutch and drag tires will snap axles if you're launching hard.

TRUE! I found out the hard way at Expo and I don't really power shift. Better change driving habits or get ready for a tranny swap.
