Need help w/ Vortech FMU... how to install
I figure I will install it in my auto lab class tomorrow, it being the vortech 12:1 fmu i just got in the mail. is it supposed to say "vortech" anywhere on it? mine has zero writing on it. and is it supposed to have an oversized diaphragm? by oversized, i mean i can see two diaphragms sticking out of the sides.
but the real question, there are three outlets to it. i'm guessing the top one Ts off into a vacuum line? does it matter which one? and the two bottom ones... i'm guessing fuel in/fuel out, would the bottom one be the "out" one? last question, where is the best place to tap into the fuel hose. before the stock FPR? if you guys have any other installation tips/suggestions let me know... thanks
i'd post pictures of it but my digi camera is broken...

It's best to tap into the fuel return line after the fpr.
The small port is the boost vacuume line.
With the boost port on top (facing up) the side port is the fuel inlet (comes from the fpr) and the port on the bottom (sticking strait out the bottom) is the fuel return line to the fuel tank.

you guys think its okay to run around w/ the stock fuel pump on 5.5psi? i have enough money to buy the msd inline fuel pump from summitracing but i wanted to have some backup money in case something else went wrong etc.

Get a GSX pump from an Eclipse. I am at 5 psi with the fmu on stock injectors and it works fine. Other people on here will say dont do what I am telling you , but it works for me.
