Default going from 9:1 to 10:1 C/R.. timing adjustments?

Hello, my car was street tuned on 7psi, with a C/R of 9:1. My headgasket was seeping oil out, so i pulled it out, and went with a OEM gasket instead of the cometic gasket i was running (0.072") and the head was milled 5 thous..

Now, I contacted my tuner, he told me just for saftey to pull out about 1 deg of timing under boost, and watch the WB02.. I was in the low 11's before under boost so i figure i will be OK.

Now, for the timing adjustment, when i set the base timing at the distributor can i set it at 15 deg instead of the factory 16 deg to pull out a deg of timing all across the board (i know i will loose it in vacume too)

This will just be so i can get the car to him and get a re-tune.

Thanks everyone!

anything you pull from the dizzy will be pulled from the rest of the map. say your at 20 degrees of total timing advance going to 15 at idle instead of 16 will net 19 degrees to total timing advance
