Mabye some dynamatt or other sound-deadener between it and the firewall. My MSD inline isen't all that loud, a nice quiet hum when the car has NO radio on at idle... (don't listen to any music since I got turbo... that whine is SO goddamn sexy)

Yes, I've heard mounting the pump onto something solid or near the engine compartment will be noisy. Try mounting it how Dustin did here:

Default You think that would work with an in-tank pump?

I'm sure it would, as long as the gas didn't act as a solvent and eat up the rubber.

My Walbro in-tank whines like a 2 year old. I put a few sheets of dynamat over the fuel tank cover, which helped considerably but now I hear a muffled whine. I'm sure adding that that rubber hose clamp would quiet it completely.

Use an adel clamp (looks like an ignition coil clamp) and mount the pump on a bolt on the transmission. This way the pump vibration and noise will be isolated from the chassis. It is very quiet if done this way.

i zip-tied my inline fuel pump to the big thick hoes near the fuel filter. not sure what hose that is... but its not as loud as my friends fuel pump that is mounted on the firewall.
