Default tranny plug?

ok, on my trans, i have two plugs(oh d15b1) and i drained it when i changed the axles, well, actually it came out through the axle hole but w/e. now when i go back to fill it back up, i see that there are two plugs, one higher and one of the lowest part of the tranny. i would presume that i would fillit though the higher one, but when i pulled the plug out, all i saw was a gear and a small hole behind the gear about an inch in diameter(except it wasnt round but you get the point). do i still fill it through this hole? if not where? thanks

Yes the upper is the correct place. Just take your time and do it slowly. Some guys also do it through the VSS.

your right...drain from the lower plug and fill from the higher plug also if you ever have any problems with the "fill plug" (mine was stripped when i bought the tranny) you can always remove the speed sensor and fill thru there(need a long funnel) but make sure you only add as much as honda reccomends (dont fill thru speed sensor till you see fluid, i've been told you'll ruin the seals)

ok, thats NOT the speed sensor, where can i get to a hole to fill the trans, cuz the hole thats on mine, when you take out the plug, (hole a) the hole going to the inside of the tranny(hole b) is on the top half. when your looking at hole a, the bottom half is metal, and the top half is hole b. when you try to stick the funnel in it, its pointin at the ground. ugh.

If you have an Advance autoparts or the like they sell a nice remote funnel, has about 2 feet of tubing on it and a nozzle on the end of the tubing that has a cap, as an added bonus it even has an on off valve just under the funnel so if you add to much you can prevent yourself from wasting all that precious tranny fluid. $4.99 last time I checked. I upgreaded mine with heavier duty, longer tygon tubing that won't kink and I can now use it with an upper strut bar in place as well.

I agree with Caleb. Those things are great to have around and they fit the bill for this exact job.

I use a short piece of 3/8" hose with a small funnel stuffed into it..
>I think you are using the wrong hole bro...

the hole you are trying to use is for taking the transmission apart, before you fill the transmission up with oil i would coat that plug with a sealer just to make sure it doesn't leak, when you get that done the bolt you want to take off is just to the left the axle on the passenger side. should take just under 2qrts.
