Default d15b2 problems/d16z6

here's the deal, my buddy has a 1995 honda civic coupe with a d15b2 sohc vtec-e lean burn in it, with 105,000 miles on it. in the last half hour of driving it almost seeems as if the crank is walking, or becoming unbalanced. I need some expert help on this, i have never encountered anything like this. the crank pulley has already shaken so much as to the a/c belt has come off, and sounds as if the timing belt is going to go soon. the power steering belt is also shaking badly. in addition the when the car is now in the on position the clutch feels as if it is shaking also, and becomes much stiffer than normal. i am in need of some direction here. is the motor shot? or am i way off here?

are the pulleys on tight ? is it the pulleys only that are shaking or the whole motor ? IE bad spark plug cables so running on 3 not 4 cyl.

the plugs and wires were just changed, an the belts were on tight. it's also making one of the most god awful noises i've ever heard, and the head almost seems like its knocking, it's possible its the piston below number three but i'm not sure. but like i said the plugs and wires were just changed.

could try something as simple as.... start the car.. unplug 1 sparkplug at a time. and see if anything happens. changes. perhaps rotor/cap

well, here is another intresting situation, i'm fairly certain this isn't the original motor, because it has a z6 head on a d15b2 block which is out of an 88-91 civic. this car is seeming more and more like a scam every time i look at it. he just bought it and it ran fine when he bought it but in th elast few days the car has started to go down hill quickly. i dont believe vtec is working either, the car is doggish, and vtec never seems to open, instead of getting steadily quicker as a sohc vtec should it get steadily slower as the rpm's rise.

i think i might have found the problem. the crank pulley itself seems to have come lose but i dont have the right tools to tighten it, how should i go about doing this if i dont have enough tools to do it.

I agree with the above, it's a d15z1, also, the d15b2 is not vtec-e.

yes i know this, i already told u i'm not illiterate about hondas. it is indeed a d15b2 with a d16z6 head. the z6 head originally on the car, but the b2 bottom end out of an 88-91 civic. he just bought the car and i dont think the oil jets were opened between cylinders 2 and 3 because vtec doesnt open. my problem however doesnt honestly involve that, it's the crank pulley which is giving me hell, the bolt is on tight but it is still shaking off the belts (power steering, air conditioning). I dont have an impact and i need some way to tighten it.

Well, a z6 isn't vtec-e either, anyway, put the pulley on tight, you can get a chain plier set to help with this...

vtec-e is quite different from vtec, and the z1 is quite different from the z6. I'm just having trouble figuring out wtf you're talking about, because a b2 won't have the crank you need if you're running a/c and ps, and neither would the z1. Do the belts match the crank? And if the bolt is too tight to turn but not all the way down it could be stripped, *shrug*
