cel code 16 wont start... do you guys think its the main relay or really a injector problem?... i got it to crank and it sounded like a mean rod knock and it never had anything wroung with the motor before yesterday.. thanks in advance

 

not sure why that would cause a knocking sound...maybe if the injector is barely spraying you could be runnin so lean it detonates....just an out of the box thought, but yea if the computer says its an injector, its probably an injector....If your car won't start tho, its most likely more than one, your car will start on three working injectors...it could be your resistor box finally took a dump

 

Check the main fuel relay. I bought my car at 183K miles. It now has 261, and twice I've had to replace it. Sometimes it'll just turn the engine over and have no fire, other times, it'll fire right up. That's how it was until I finally replaced it BOTH times. It's like a 40$ part...try it and save your time. The relay is mounted under the dash, on the driver's side, up against the wall on the right.

Try it, and let us know!

 

PS, I had a code 16. Or maybe it was 8? Pretty sure it's a 16, though. Run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner. If that fails, try the relay theory.

 

ok ill try the second thing but the first wont work for one reason its just a dx with the stock motor right now ... but ill try the injector cleaner first and then the main fuel relay .. thanks guys

 

What does a stock motor have to do with it, and what theory can't you use...?

thats wat i was talking about not yours sorry i should of been more clear.. im about to go try the injector stuff now and then if that doesnt work im going to try the main injector relay

Still be weary. I hope that's all it was. If it does it again in the next...month...then consider that relay.
