Why does my 1/4 time suck so bad 16.64 @ 83mph?
I have pondering over this for the past couple of days since I raced my car for the first time on Friday night. Ive been looking at other peoples times on multiple forums and there running better times than i am stock. Then again I do have an EX with some heavy accessories such as power seats, moon roof etc. The only mods I have are magnaflow cat back, intake, fidanza 8lb flywheel, 12.5 lb 16" Rota Slipstreams, fidanza short shifter and a few other things. I just think I can do wayyyy better. Im not sure if this has much to do with it but my engine mounts are almost shot with 164,000 miles on the chassis and 80,000 on the motor. Also anyone know the stock weight of the vehicle? Ive gotten different weights from multiple online sources. Im going to start stripping down my car tomorrow. Any positive input would be great. Thanks.
It's possible that all you need is practice, if you say this was your first time racing then keep it at and see if your time goes down. I'm not saying you're a bad driver or anything, though.
here is a curb weight from msn autos

i belive it might say in your owners manual if im not mistaken.

Probably because you can't drive??? not trying to be mean...scan your timeslip or type it and we can all see if that is the case...............a stock F22b1 in a accord runs a 17.1
2 door or 4 door? my 94 ex 4 door came in at 3000 lbs on the scale at the track. I have intake,header,cat-back exhaust with clutch slipping in 3 a little and got a 15.6. but post your time slip so we can see. Practice makes perfect
somethings not right. several 5th gens have been known to hit low 15s with bolt ons less extensive than yours. A bolt on 5th gen with an h23 tranny should hit high 14s
do the rota slipstreams really weight 12.5lbs. each in 16s...i find that REALLY hard to believe. enkei RPF1s arent even that light, i dont even think the spoons are that light

1. You probably need practice
2. Depends on the condition of your car
3. And alot of people forget this one..... ACCORDS AREN'T MEANT TO BE RACE CARS!!!! (I'm not saying they can't be turned into one... Scott from AZ proved us all wrong there)
