First time at the track today
it was my frist time at the track today, it was only an 1/8 mile track and the sun wasn't out much today so it wasn't too warm. i had 3 runs and they got better everytime but my best was a 10.816 with a 60ft of 2.56. this is in a 94' EX coupe with d16z6 with only header, hi-flow cat, muffler, and short throw shifter. I had the back seats and spare tire/jack removed too.
i was hopin to see low or mid 10's but i guess it was my first time and i couldn't get any grip, i was breaking loose in 2nd some too. just wondering what anyone thought about this time of if they've ran their EX coupes and it's close compairison.

realistically your times have more to do with you learning to improve your launching technique etc and getting a better feel for the lights and your car. That's why you noticed an improvement each time you ran. Keep running and practicing and your times will keep getting better. Power is nothing without skill and technique.

yeah, i know practice makes perfect. just to throw in my R/T's they were: .840 for the 1st, .885 for the 2nd, and .624 for the 3rd. Trap speed was: 64.8, 66.03, and 65.98.

that's not bad reaction time for first time out, especially your last one. You'll find that your trap speeds will stay roughly the same (until you add more power mods) even though your times to cover the distance will improve a bit as you get better.

because here in North Dakota it sucks, and i had to drive 60 miles to get to that 1/8 mile track and to get to a 1/4 mile track i'd have to drive at least 150 miles, and that's not positive either, but 150 miles minimum. so in the end we get the shaft here in ND

You've also got to remember he's run 2.50's in the 60'. I run 2.30's 60' and 10.20's in the 1/8th. Still good times for a newbie. Like the other guy said, figure out how to launch and you'll run some better times. By the way. If you're runnin 13, 14, or 15 inch wheels, try running them at 20 pounds of pressure. That helped my 60' foot times a lot.

that's mostly the reason i went to see what my 60' times were, and try to get them down some. i'm runnin 14" stock steelies and i would've let some air out but i didn't have an air tank with me to fill them back up.
but yeah i was thinkin that if i could run like 2.2-2.3ish 60' then i'd be in the low/middle 10's for the 1/8th
