Default Pictures and Review: Progress rear sway and lower rear tie bars.

First off, this sway bar is freakin huge compared to stock. them OEM looks as if it is approx. 12, maybe 13mm. The Progress sway is 22mm thick, almost twice as large. The sway bar came with a lower rear tie bar, all the nessecary hardware, a tube of lithuim grease for the Poly bushings, and instructions.

Installation: Kinda difficult (5 out of 10)with hand tools and jackstands, took me maybe 45 minutes for everything. Getting the lower control arm bolts back in was the hardest part of everything, as the arms shifted in their mounts upon removal of the OEM bolts. But, with a little coercion and a little patience, they went in easy once you get them threaded.

I will post a full DIY on the FAQ thread here shortly.

Performance: What can I say except for wow. What a difference this bar makes. Buch tighter feel in the rear of the car, tighter feel in the corners, and great ride quality all around. Taking a tight corner makes the car feels like its on rails. More steering response. Especially when taking quick, sharp, abrupt moves of the steering wheel, it doesnt feel near as sloppy as the OEM bar does. Alot tighter and feels safer to take quick manuvers with the bar.

Anybody looking for a simple, EFFECTIVE, and cost effecient way to tighten up your cars suspension, a new sway bar will do you alot of good.
I got mine shipped for $174.00 SHIPPED from Dezod Motorsports, in which I am very pleased. The front bar should be coming in shortly, when money becomes available.

The OEM Bar.

Pretty flimsy compared to this:

Heres some shots of the bars on the car.

More pics to Come.

You should be cautious though, people on 7thgencivic.com have said that the progress rear sway bar tends to snap the stock endlinks.

Yeah, I know. Im ordering some of Greys endlinks here before too long hopefully. Im going to take it easy on the stockers for now anyways until I get the front bar installed.

Unless you want your car to understeer more, don't bother changing the front swaybar.

This is the exact post i needed thanks a lot! Do u know if this kit will work for a civic 01 lx. It seems most sway bars are for ex models. Also could i install this without much nollege of the suspension system?

The reason why it's designed for EX's, is because the EX's come with an anti-sway bar in stock form. You might need to do some drilling for it to fit your LX, but it'll be rather self-explanatory, if you look at your rear suspension components. The Lower Control Arm mount on the body itself will have dimples where you should drill for the mounting brackets for the anti-sway bar. You'll also need to get endlinks for the kit, otherwise, they won't mount to your lower control arms, hence not worth doing.

I think Ive heard alot of people comment that it produces so much understeer due to it being so big (27mm) I may be wrong though.

^^ isn't it suppose to be producing more oversteer due to the fact that it's thicker at the back?

Its UNDERSTEER were talking about.

And,

No, it helps turn in more because of the thicker bar in the back.

The OEM was so flimsy, it didnt help any, plus the stock bushings, made it handle like crap, so when you step up in size, it does help.

But 27mm is too big to not have understeer because so much is backing up the car, to the point it makes understeer a bizzatch to deal with.
