I am having ALOT fo trouble trying to bleed my cooling system. Tried raising the front open the cap, the bleeder and both and still not having alot of luck. Would this happen if my thermostat was stuck closed?

 

how old is the thermostat...u can remove it and try filling it up with water to see if it bleeds better..then u will know

 

well it is the one that came with my JDM swap so like 11 years. DOes that make sense though as a reason why I cant bleed it?

 

i never use the bleeder valve i just poor water in the rad. and then wait till its full start the car with the cap off and it takes the water in and just fill it while its running u can try that but then after it wont take any more shut the car off put the cap on the rad. and run it for a few min..

 

also how old is the water pump is it the original also? head gasket fresh?

 

it wont expell air when i do that, thats one reaosn why im thinking the thermostat is gone

 

yes its original, it doesnt leak and it spun easily though

 

best bet just take the thermostat out and try to bleed it u cant hurt your car by taking it out its just basicly to amke your car run at a certain temp. the colder the better and u will be running colder..

 

u might want to check and replace that old water pump iv had a few problems with the stock one in my 95 del sol vtec...

 

ut cant the coolant flow too fast and end up overheating because it isnt in the rad long enough?

 

i no many people including my self and iv never had a problem with it i have an aluminum rad though..

 

maybe ill try that then. I have a 2inch aluminum one as well

 

how long should the bleeding process take and how will i knwo when all the air is actually gone?

 

have u ever bleed brakes u can tell when air comes out and when its a straight stream of water it should be good...
