Default OBD1 valve cover, how should I ground it?

Swapped covers but there's no threaded hole for the second part of the ground like there was on the old cover, what should I do?

If there is a bolt on the other side of the cover somewhere for a spark plug wire bracket you could use it as an independent ground to somewhere close by... or straight to the battery.

Went out for a test drive and the battery died and then it began to storm badly so I tried my best not to die on the way home in a dark thunderstorm with no lights. I'm putting the old valve cover back on tomorrow...

Nay a hickup. If your battery went dead that is a seperate issue.

The only other thing I did was extend my purge solenoid wires and put on a different plug so I could use the one mounted on my IM.

What would it randomly start doing that **** for...

EDIT: my valve cover doesn't have a spot on there like yours does, on the corner, that is.

It has to be something else if the car started by died along the way. Make sure the ground for the battery is minty fresh so that mid-way through your drive it isn't losing contact.

Well, the way it acted was that it gradually lost charge until it no longer had charge. I just went out and started it and it seemed fine and everything was full power, but as I left it idling the battery light slowly came on, I checked the alternator belt and it was fine.

I extended those wires, did the valve cover, and removed the holder for the old solenoid from the firewall. I had my vss ground to it through the bolt to the firewall, so I just put the wire inbetween the bolt and the firewall to leave it grounded, could that be the cause? I'm just going to put everything back exactly the way it was tomorrow, I guess.

But, now that I remember I drove the car earlier in the day after the changes and had no issues. I dunno now,
