Stand Alone Fuel Management System HKS PFC f-CON
does anyone have any expierences with these stand alone fuel management systems? any thoughts or comments on them? also would you say this would be a better choice than a chipped ecu?
also how relieable would you say the pfc f-con is? im looking to run like 8-10 psi on a b16a... i have done some reading and basicly with the sensors and whatnot the pfc ecu reads and adjusts the fuel/air mixture to whatever boost pressures and all that. basicly a self tuning ecu to the boost pressures? am i getting that right?
would getting that deplete the need for dyno tuning if it is self tuning? bc right now i would have to get a ecu conversion harness obd0-obd1 then a p28 obd1 ecu, then chip that ecu to a stadard spec and it would only let me run so many psi of boost b4 needeing to rechip for high boost applications, right?

Yeah its similar except Electromotive also has its own ignition coils so it eliminates the distributor entirely. I chose this route over the chipped ecu route mostly because of simplicity. The car runs off of less than 15 wires and uses readily available gm sensors. I can run any type of injector I want, no distributor worries, no setting base timing. A standalone EMS has much more capabilities than the stock honda ecu.

so would you say that the pfc is its own EMS? i know it controls the fuel to air mixtures. and also controls the injector pulse and width of injector pulses. also can get rid of fuel cut offs...... it piggy backs the ecu, but i dont think like normal piggy backs, considering it changes the OEM ecu around and overrides different specs to makethe ecu a ''super'' ecu persay.. since it almost self tunes, which is a good deal

No this was on a GSR-Nitrous setup, but going turbo now. The car made 161 hp all motor on a stock gsr and then 266 on a 75 shot. Track Times in sig.
You would have better luck talking to the Supra guys. A couple of them have used these. I personally never have
i have gotten alot of ppl say that they arnet as good as say the emanage or aem ems but these are like a grand from hks. they cant be that bad, plus they are HKS!
their very good in my opinion bud i had one fitted with t3 set up on my glanza turbo and it done the trick very nicely.emanage etc is a lot more expensive and only have a few extra features.id go f-con bud all the way

No. that is a standalone EEPROM system similar to Hondata and chrome from my experience.

would you say it is pretty relieable? but isnt the pfc fcon a self tuning stand alone fuel management system, like it gathers info from the engine and changes to suit the boost pressures and all that
hey i stand to be corrected on this but.to the best of my knoledge the f-con isnt self learning Its a piggyback and if you take the lid off it can be adjusted using a screwdriver and obviously whilst hooked up to wideband/RR etc..

with a screwdriver??? wtf?!?!
my vote is for AEM EMS for a full standalone. next would be Neptune then Hondata.
