Simple but quarky STARTING problem on '89 Accord
I have trouble starting the vehicle on an incline with a full tank of gas(cranks fine, spark, just no fuel gettin to engine), so I rolled it to a flat surface, still wouldn't start. Let it sit for a few hours, then went out and it started right up (now on the flat surface). The fuel pump is so quiet i couldn't tell if it was working properly, didn't have an assisant to turn key while I listened. The car IS FUEL INJECTED. Shouldn't the fuel pump come on for a second or two before the car cranks (in ACC mode)? This I would presume builds up appropriate pressure for the fuel injected system. I'm guessing weak fuel pump, but maybe there is a one way valve to keep fuel from draining back into tank. Suggestions as to what to suspect. Thank you.
Sorry I guess caps didn't work...lemmi try caps and bold this time FUEL INJECTED CAR...just yankin' yer chain. And yeah, that's electoronically fuel injected.
i'd suggest you don't get smart if you want help. Sorry i misread it.
You need to check the fuel pressure when you prime the pump with the key on and with it running to see if it's applying enough pressure. Also it wouldn't hurt to change the fuel filters either

yeah, you make a good point about the fuel filter, this car has 163k. Is there one or two filters to worry about and where are they generally located? Thanks alot for your help and btw I didn't mean to be rude about the misread, I was only foolin'. I saw how many posts you reply to, I know it happens from time to time. Thanks again.
