Default Cable dangling from under my seat...

I just purchased a 1998 Integra GSR. I have had it for about a week or so now and I just noticed that there is a cable hanging from underneath the passenger seat. I found an illustration from Acura, I think it is #5 on this drawing:

Anybody know what this is for and how to hook it back up? I should also mention that the passenger seat does not slide forward when someone wants to get out of the back (2 door).

it's probably for the seatbelt light.

So, does anyone know why my seat wouldn't slide forward when someone is trying to get out of the back. My brother's GSR does that...

And as far as that being the seatbelt wire, will the seatbelt still work? What's the wire for? And how do I hook it back up?

i don't think thats a sealbelt wire. i had my seats out a few weeks ago, and there was nothing connected on my passenger side. there is no light in our cars that say when the passenger doesn't have a seatbelt on.

the part you highlighted may have to do with the seat sliding. i have never looked too closely at how the seat works.

It is related to the seat sliding. You will have to pull the seat out and possibly remove the sliders to get that cable back into place.

you said cable not an electrical wire right. its the cable for the lever to unlock the slider mechanism. just unbolt the seat and hook the cable back up or might have to get a new one if the cable is broken.

Yes, it's a cable. From what I can see, it does not look broken. Does anyone know how the cable routes/where it goes? Any pictures?

dude just pull your seat out and look. it's 4 bolts, and it will take no more than 2 minutes. it should be pretty obvious where it goes because if it is a cable, it probably won't reach to many places.

I know how to take the seat out, yes it is easy. I'm only asking because the picture isn't very descriptive.

isnt the black metal horizontal bar that you pull up in front of the seat supposed to hook up to that cable somehow to move the seat forward? when you pull up on the bar, it pulls that cable, which then pulls the sliders out of their locking position so you can slide the seat back or forward.. right?

There is no seatbelt light on the passenger side, it is for moving the seat back and forth. Just check out the driver's side to see how it is hooked up, you can clean under the seats at this time as well. Get some of that woolite stuff and clean away.

This makes sense. Thanks!

I don't think the drivers side is supposed to slide forward when a passenger wants out. (But what do I know? I just got the car, you've probably had one for a while).

Thanks everyone, I think I found the answer to my question. If not, I'll post again.
