On This Weeks Episode of Monster Garage...
The Car: 1993 Honda Civic CX Hatchback
The Budget: However much it is going to cost for all the fluids, oil filter and new fenders
The Goal: To complete the rebuild on my wrecked hatchback in 2 weeks time as my parents dropped the bomb on me that they are selling the house that has served as home and workshop my entire life.
Time To Complete The Project: As soon as possible before everyone starts tearing through the garage collecting up 30 years worth of family items. My dad has already started repo-ing his tools.
Everything I have to do the car is as follows...
-Install master bushing set including rear trailing arm bushings
-Install new upper control arms-Completed
-Install new rear lower contorl arms
-Install motor mount inserts-completed
-Install new pads and rotors front and rear
-Mount new trans to motor-Completed
-Re-install motor/trans-Completed
-Bolt-in the new roll bar
-Install new fenders and hood
-Perform clean-up and paintwork in the interior
-Mount harness and seat
-Run wiring for the new gauges
-Replace windshield
-Get car aligned
-Go to the dmv and renew tag
As it sits right now, the car is a bare shell on 4 jackstands in my garage. Oh yea, this is all to be done at night after work(7pm) meanwhile tools are depleting daily. I found out there is also a track event in Alabama at Talladega Grand Prix on July 22nd. I would like to bring the little hatch that could out as it will be off of the disabled (and dismantled) list.
Wish me luck,
Joey

That can all be done in one afternoon, easy. Throwing the motor and rollbar in in another day no problem. You should be able to take care of it, good luck

THIS:

is a bare shell. And if that's what your car looks like, then, best of luck to you, lol.

Funny you should say that, we got started last friday night, the power went out, so we started drinking, heavily. Thanks to Brad, D Martin, Justin and Scott for helping me polish off all that beer. Definitely more work days ahead....I will keep you posted.
Justin, post the pics of me breaking the beer bottles with handle to my floor jack
btw, I finally found my car keys today...in my trashcan.

Here is the progress from this weekend
-Motor is installed including new poly motor mount inserts
-All of the front suspension is put back together including all of the poly bushings and the new control arms
Still have to hook up the axles and shift linkage, put fluids in and hook up a few vaccum lines and the battery

Just noticed this post. I have actually read quite a bit about them, especially the RTA bushings. I am moving right along with the bushings...now worries.
