Default distributor for lsvtec

hey guy im about to build my ls vtec setup which contains a jdm b16a head which i think is obd0 and 1997 bottom ls block....my question is if i can use my ls distributor with the head or do i have to use any vtec distributor?

yes, but you have to cut the right side of the dizzy's ear< where the bolt goes on the bottom right and grind off the stupid little box type portrusion.

i just did this today on a swapped integ, he put a full b16 swap and bought a t3/t4 and put in a 4 dr, and didnt want to buy a new dizzy.

im using a p28 ecu chipped and the distributor im going to use is 1997 ls which is obd2 but i heard that u have to use the same obd as the ecu is that right?

I have an OBD1 dizzy from 94 GSR, needs coil. Coil can be bought on ebay for less than $15. Selling mine for $70 shipped

You can use the OBDII dizzy with the OBDI ECU, you just have to rearrange some pins. I can't find the thread that discusses it right now, and I don't remember... sorry!

use the 94 gsr distributor and take the coil from the 96ls dist.
the 97 distributor does not have the crank position sensor in it.

this guys an idiot, don't listen to him. It does have the crank position sensor in it. You can use the obd2 ls dizzy just fine, just cut off the front leg.
