S housing inlet machining - short radius 4" bend...
I have a couple of questions. Due to the packaging of my turbo setup, a normal 4" inlet on a compressor housing is out of the question. I'm currently running a 3" inlet and even it is a tight fit.
Can the S trim compressor housing (such as in a GT35R) be machined down for a 3" silicone connector?
Is there a 4" equivalent to this 3" short radius 90?

ive had a few customers machine them down to 3" in the past
have you had any troubles with that rubber 90* bend on the inlet collapsing under load?

Thanks. That's good to know. The 90 has never collapsed under boost. It's VERY thick and quite stiff. Even getting it on the turbo is a hassle due to it's stiffness- it doesn't really bend at all. It was a stocked Turbonetics part a few years ago, not sure if it's still in their catalog or not.

I noticed they have an E cover version. I thought about it, but I think I'd prefer a slightly larger outlet and a/r on the housing. The other things holding me back are that the backplate of their GT35RLE is different from the backplate on their GT35RLS and they don't offer a 0.82 or larger a/r on a T4 housing hotside. I may still wind up running their GT35RLE though.

good thing that 90* is rigid.
i had some buddies call me on the dyno with a twin modular mustang setup and "couldn't make over 12lbs, no matter what..."
drove out, monitored the first run and noticed the 90* silicone inlets were collapsing as soon as the turbos would load up. just wanted to give you a heads up, in case you had an issue.
they changed em out for aluminum pieces and made ~550@12psi on a mustang dyno 1st run

I have a 4" S cover with anti-surge with this same elbo problem. Timg, what is the width of that elbo? from the inlet to the back.

I'm not sure what the measurements are right now. I like to order car parts when I'm traveling for work and spend all of my free time when I'm home installing them.
If the car wasn't a few states away, I'd run out to the garage to measure it for you. This elbow from ATP turbo appears to be the same as mine.

I need a tight 4" inlet/outlet 90* elbo that has a max height of 6". ATP has a elbo like this but its 8" high. Can anyone help me out?

I think Turbonetics is where my first one came from. Unfortunately, they only have them for 3", not 4".

Now you guys got me worried, I made some plastic mold myself, its a thixotropic type for 4" turbo intake, its softer than normal hose, Im thinking itmight collapse and even be sucked in the ******* turbo
