Default What would cause a worn control arm bushing???

I know it could be almost anything...... what would cause a front lower control arm bushing to wear on my arm and not the other??I replaced the arms with newer bushings in them and had an alignment done, and still wearing. I know it could be alot of things but i am trying to find out what could be the cause of it.... if anyone has any ideas that would be great. thanks

check for bent parts lca, upper control arm leaky or worn shocks. Check all your ball joints and tie rods for play. Ask the shop that did the alignment to give you a print out of the alignment specs before, after, and factory spec. I only ever had one lca bushing fail I then put in full polly kit never lost another one.

it could also be that your car was in an accident prior to you owning it and they replaced one of the control arms.

but yah, check for bent parts.

Good thing you brought this up. Your civic LCA bolts should be tighten at road height.

You see when you torque down the bolts with the wheels hanging in the air, you will notice.
As soon as you put weight on the lca, it straighten's out cause the ruber bushing to stretch.

You must remember rubber dry rots. It will wear due to the weather and road conditions.

hey.... well I just replaced the shocks yesterday.... the car was in an accident but the bushing that is wearing is on the opposite side. I did tighten my bolts when the car was in the air.The odd thing is the other side did not wear at all.....I will look into it more, thanks for all the info everyone.... anyone else have anymore ideas please let me know. thanks
