HELP New CAR. New COLD AIr Intake NOW the CHECK Motoer light is on ?????
The car is 3 weeks old. I took it down to the shop 3 days ago got the New AEM cold air intake put on with the dryflow filter. The guy there told me with the old oil filters the check motor light would come on sometimes but
with the new AEM dryflow filter that would not happen????
SO today I jump in the car for a ride and the check motor light is now on. Is this from the new intake?
What should I do about it have them remove the intake and install the stock air set up? I'm not
going to have a new ride and have the check motor light on all the time. That is one of the things I went
with the New AEM set up as the guy told me this would not happen.
I'm new to all this so any info and site you guys have would be great.
Thanks.

More likely the MAF. If they were monkeying around with the air intake, I'd bet money these guys forgot to reconnect the MAF, or worse, damaged it in the process.
This is why I do all my own mods. If I break something, I can only blame myself, and I'm not about to firebomb my own house!

I second that...Check out your MAF sensor, they most likely screwed it up or the car doesnt like the aem. You drove the car previous to jumping on it right? The light just came on after you jumped on it? Or did you just start the car and the light came on?
No I have been driving the car fine for 4 days and put about 110 miles on it fine. Then
on Wed. I jumped in the car to drive it and the light was on.

did you get a answer for this? i have the same problem, i had my intake installed, but i drove with it fine with no check light on until 12 hours later, where it came up, but the car still runs the same, no power loss at all
check all your hoses.....they had to remove coolant lines and breather lines during the install....make sure everything is tight
Installed mine myself.........never had any problems.....had it on for 4 months now

obviously this guy has no clue...he is talking about the air intake and then the oil filter...give the man a break...calm down...everything will be fine...just find out when you take it back to the shop the reason for the check engine light all they have to do is plug into your ECU to find the error message and the answer to your problem. The sooner the better...
i know someone that ordered and installed it trough honda dealear and was told that the engine light will come on cause it changes the air fuel mixture there is a sensor that detect this and send an error.

BS....had mine for 4 months.....the engine adapts to the increased air flow

i installed CAI myself on my s2k.. never had check engine sign on.
but when i installed Exhaust it did..so to move o2 sensor costed me 70 bucks
i think probably intakes won't do much difference to make ecu detect any
unfamiliar things
im guessing the bull mechanic connected some hose wrong.

Dealers are always going to feed a line of crap. That is their job and to sucker people into having them do all the installs with their parts. They will try to talk you out of most things, and will play the "warranty card" almost everytime.
Mine did the same thing last month. I just took it to Honda and asked WTF? He said no big deal, the code said the car was running rich. All I have is a CAI and a catback. They reset it and off I went with no problems since. I have heard of a few other Sis doing the same thing here and there. But my service manager said no issues. I used to work with the guy so I trust him.
If it irks you that much, just go to the dealership.
