Sony Xplod speakers
I have a 2000 4dr integra. I have installed 6.5in in front and 6x9in in the back of the car. The front speakers handle 55watts RMS and the rear 80watts RMS. Now heres my problem when the volume is low the speakers are fine when high they are staticky. But when put the fader to the rear the speakers sound fine at all volume levels. I have a Alpine Head-Unit.
ha ha true sony is trash
your under powering the speakers your head units not puting out 55 rms more like 22-30 rms under powering leads to distortion and distortion blows speakers
like john said add a amp
good luck

Who said a great system has to shake the block? More often then not, it wont. If you are going for sound quailty and it sounds like you are, sony isnt the brand to use.

Well yes it will sound better with an amp, everything will. But it wont ever sound better than "pretty good" since you using sony.
What amp are you running?

on your alpine deck, do you have the bass, loudness, bbe or mediaXpander turned on? what kind of music do you listen to? you could just be hitting the physical limitation of the speaker making it play too much bass.
and are your front 6.5" speakers installed properly, meaning do they sit flush in the cutout or are there airgaps between the lip of the speaker basket and the door? not having a good seal will give you front/backwave cancelation making the speaker sound like crap.
