Default F22 Hydro Lock... yet again

I know this has been brought up many times, but I just have something I need to ask that I didn't see on the other hydro lock threads.

Where I live, in Maryland, we had us a huge flash flood the other night... Dumb ol' me had to drive thru it and bam... 210, a 6 lane high way was FLOODED. Yes, I clutched, but, the water was too deep and well, you get the idea.

I took the car to my friends house and we drained the oil out... that crap was doodoo brown. We let it drain for about 30 minutes to try to get everything out. Filled it back up and cranked the motor and the motor is knocking. I still have good oil pressure, but there is a knock.

From what I understand in what I've read, this could simply be that I spun a rod bearing. Can I just order some new OEM rod bearings and throw them in, and no harm no faul? Or is it possible that a rod is bent, also, and that the walls are scored?

I haven't drove my car cause from what I read in the other threads... it will blow sooner or later.

this wont help, but i live in MD too. flood was super bad. i hit flood water and ripped my greddy front lip straight off (saw pieces of it the next day and yes, it was mounted properly) and soaked my alarm siren. i think my bypass valve for my AEM CAI saved my engine because i have no knock and my car runs pretty good. Did you have an intake on your car which sucked in the water?

you probably bent connecting rod number one, very highly unlikely that you spun a bearing.

You probably have customized rods:

Way to go kid. Looks like me and Ethan are going to be busy sometime soon.

Look into a set of Tuner Toys rods and some ACL bearings.

It might take us a few days, but I'm sure we could get new rods in if we could find a place to press the pistons onto a new set of rods.

edit: TT does not make F22 rods. Maybe it's time to get moving on that H22 swap.

It really blows because you just got the ****** back on the road a few months ago.

If you can get it to last a few more weeks then take advantage of it. I had to take a loan out to fix my **** and it really sucks.

This is why when I drive in the rain, I leave it in a low gear to keep my RPM's up just in case if water does get into my motor, it'll shot right back out and won't have time to settle inside

yeah hydrolock is a sad thing. i bent a rod but not to the point it would knock. changed the oil but didnt bother tearing the motor down. snapped a rod 2 weeks later. at least you have an excuse to swap an h22 in now. thing is you could probably just put in new rods and youd be fine. dunno what else could have been damaged.
