PRM kills motor i would not push it that hard maybe 9000, do you have valve dual springs in the motor i have a C5 motor and i only spin it to 8600 RPM with cams and valve springs

i have the skunk2 dual valve springs, ti retainers, high comp. valves and spec 2 cams. the springs and retainers will hold 9500 no problem and the cams are suposed to make power all the way to 9500, so i would like to use that power. just wondering if the bottom end can keep up or if not what can i do to ensure safe reving.

Push it as high as you can go. 10,000 rpm. No need to use the clutch either. Power shift it. Yeah, go for it.

I've done similar mods recently and called Skunk2 with the same question and they claimed my stock B18c1 bottom end should handle 9500 no problem. So I've reved it up to 9500 a few times now and it has held up no problem. It pulls the whole way. But I'm also curious what other opinions there are on this. I'm still looking into upgrading the connecting rods and pistons.

I've known someone to run a stock bottom end R and not have any problems to 9500 RPM's. It may ruin the motor faster than normal, but it will still last for quite a while I believe.

It should be fine to spin the motor up there, your stock internals are plenty strong. The only thing you're goin to have to worry about up there is making power. Are you porting your head? I'm not really sure about the S2 cams how high will they make power. My friends CRVTEC motor had JUN3's in it and it started having a power drop off at around 8800 and those cams are ******* insane.
The only problem with them is a lot of people have had problems with them shatteriing.......
