Default is it safe to remove the plastic pieces in the wheel well and and under the motor?

basically like the topic says. i got into a small accident, and now the plastic piece in the wheel well rubs against my tire when i left u turns, and the plastic piece under the front of the motor scrapes almost every dip i encounter, would it be safe to remove the plastic pieces?

Well they're there to keep dirt/water out of the engine bay. Its your call. My friend doesn't have any and its a daily driver. But I wanted to keep all mine just in case

i figured that, thats why im kinda scared to take it out, i'm guessing i'd be fine as long as i avoid harsh puddles when it rains. but i should take it out cause the rubbing noise it makes during turns is really scary sounding.

Don;t worry abotu it. If you rub long enough, it'll wear a hole in a few spots and it'll stop. Just give it time. If you remove them altogether, the fenders will be caked with dirt and sand pretty quick.

when I had 17's, I just let it rub till it was gone.. now I have 16's and no problems.

it's there for a reason, like some poeple said it's so you dont' get dirt and other random crap up into your engine bay. I have a CAI in my car and the black plastic helps keep water from getting up into the pipe, even though I have a bypass valve, I don't want to take any chances

are the ones in the wheelwells connected to the one under the motor, if the wheel well one will just burn a hole thru on its own, i'd rather leave those, but the one under the car is basically just scraping everywhere..

I think that its a bad idea... but if you have your inner fenders/wheel well coated with a spray-on bed liner type material I think that would work great!

its not a big deal, a lot of slammed cars run no fender lining. The engine bay will get dirty quicker though

mine was missing on the driver's side and used to make my door squeak

I had to lube the hinges like every month. But now I have one and no problems

Also if you run over loose gravel in the road your car will sound like she
has pop rocks it her mouth. Plus your fenders will rust from all the chips on the bottom side.

I wouldnt take the fender wall plastics off because if you do and you start spraying under there to get the dirt off its going to cause your suspension to rust alot sooner than it would if it had the plastic and as the splash guard for under your car alot of people take them off cause there aftermarket headers wont fit with them etc... i dont think that one matters as much.

Alright, thanks everyone for your input. I'm going to take off the splash guard under the motor, and just cut off where it rubs. Thanks for your help though.
