JDM B16A obd0 to obd1 swap...

Ok so everywhere that I search for motors I see that the JDM B16A's are cheaper for the 88-91 civic/crx's because there OBD0... They're like 1100 complete swap... And for my chassis I need OBD1 "92-95 civic" engine, but those complete swaps are like 2500... Why not just buy the obd0 an convert it for merely half of what i'd pay to get the OBD1...????? Is there a catch to this..?? Do 88-91 axles work on 92-95...?? Thats all I could think be different besides injectors, dizzy, an ecu... Which I have in my garage already.... Not really anything to search for on this question, just wonderin how to save a couple bucks if possible...??
you get what you pay for why buy a motor that 12-15 years old and risk failure when you can get something a little newer not to mention that most if not all the 88-91 b16 are cable while the newer ones are hydraulic clutches

well, you would need a different tranny, dizzy, ecu, and wiring. i am using an obd0 longblock in my del sol right now. not very tough actually, just get the axels from a teggy, and tranny from a del sol vtec or 99-00 si. cost of a longblock is only 600 from hmo, and you would use the wiring harness from a 92-95 ex, and dizzy from del sol vtec.

so i was couple hundred bucks off on complete swap, but long block is like 1200, big whoop.. i was throwin ideal prices out there anyways... EBAY <although often praised against> has tons of OBD0 B16 parts for the lowwww... especially motors...

Yeah but I mean 2nd gen engines have been 2300 forever, i guess im just a bitcher an think **** should decrease in price as they age.. I mean how many B series motors did Honda actually make lol... They cant last forever...!!! OR CAN THEY...!!! DUHDUH DUNNNNNNNNN....!!

haha in the midst of all the seriousness I found the need for a joke to be inserted so i applied an accepted all oncomers to FLaMe ThEE, but instead i made a funny lol good ****... ;-)
but i still think HMO, PW-JDM, JDM Addiction, an all the other places that sell motors need to re-evaluate there price sheet lol.... Lower the B16's to upper 16-1700's an gsr's to about 23-2400 an I SWEAR... They'd sell at least 1 or 2 more a week lol....

just get an obd1 longblock, and whatever Bseries hydro tranny you want. grab an obd1+ intake manifold, and thermostat housing, the rest is a basic B series swap. 10 flywheel hp isnt worth the $$$

Will my modded DX harness "modded for vtec" work on an OBD1 longblock...?? I've searched but nobody seems to have ever wrote a post on DX harness B series engine...??

yes it will work but you have to hook up vtec and knock. just get the obd-1 swap complete and save yourself the trouble

tru it sounds like just spendin the extra cash would save TONS of hassle... i was just tryna save a few bucks ya know...
