1st gen b16 worth puttin in a 92-95 hatchy?
I have a fully built 1st gen b16 in my rex now, but, im looking into buying a 92-95 hatch. will i run into some problems if i do this swap? i believe the motor is obd1...not sure though... it came with the pr3 ecu. any help on what is needed to make this run reliably?

you will need two things, the 92-95 ECU and the other i think is made by Place Racing. it converts cable to hydraulic and vice versa. you need that because the 5th gen and up civics have hydraulic trans. it will work, i thought about doing that with my hatch b/c the motors are cheaper.

...in addition to the ECU, you need all of these parts to make a 89-91 B16A engine work in an EG:
obd1 B-series distributor
obd1 B-series ECU....of course
(a PR3 is not an OBD1 ECU..although there is such a thing as an OBD1 PR3, very rare though- found on JDM 92-93 RSi/XSi integra's)
obd1 B-series Fuel Injectors
obd1 engine harness
(preferrably a SOHC VTEC Si/EX one - makes wiring less of a *******..err hassle)
94+ Integra engine mounts, complete axles, and shift linkage.
Your gonna want to use a Hydro trans..I don't recommend a cable tranny-the 3rd gear synchro ALWAYS tends to go out first....plus a hydro tranny is a direct bolt-in on an EG chassis.
I think I'm leaving something out ..but you need all this stuff to make everything work nicely in an EG. kinda sucks eh?
Here's a plan....I duno if you'll be down with it though.
By a complet hydro B16A swap....that's meant for an EG.
I dunno what's built on your current b16 engine, but if it's just the block and head, you can use that in the EG and swap everything over from the hydro b16 onto your built b16 and drop that in an EG... then you can just sell or keep the stock hydro b16 engine as a backup. Just an idea...
good luck with whatever you do sir...

Wow all those parts huh!!! yeah, i just wanted to keep the motor cuz of the engine work done to it. i.e.. crower rods, srp 9 to 1 comp. pistons, o ringed block, got everything balanced and blueprinted, ported head and intake manifold, i already have a clutch masters stg. 4 too and a lightened flywheel. thats why i asked cuz i didnt want to waste what i have done to it, then to just have to start over...but i really need a newer car. i guess ill ask around and get a quote on all those parts. thanks "sir"
