i've swapped a d16a6 from a 90si into my 88HF.
The car doesn't seem like it wants to turn over. What should I check for?
I kept the HF wiring harness. using 90si ECU.
The MAP sensor hose (21) is connected to I.M. and the EVAP canister Red Barbed hose is also connected I.M.. Other than that no other hoses are connected (left hanging) and sensors are still intact. I don't believe these should be connected from what I've read but I can be wrong. Would they prevent the car from starting?
Also there is a sensor with a vaccum and electrical plug located on the rear right of the T.M. (towards master cylinder) that are both not connected. I can't seem to find this sensor in any diagrams. Any clue what this sensor is and should the the vaccum tube or electrical plug be connected?
any help will be appreciated. Thankyou!

when you say it does not want ot turn over, do you mean the starter does not crank the engine? or does it spin it, but the engine does not catch.
is the engine spins, but does not start, begin with the basics, check fuel, air and spark.
eliminate each and you will narrow down to the issue.
if the engine does not turn over than you have a ground issue, wiring to the starter issue or mechanical issue (flywheel, clutch or internal engine interference)

The starter does turn the crank.
To check fuel I would assume to check the pressure. I hear the fuel pump when i turn the key to ignition. is there something else i should check for?
I currently have the air filter/piping off. Anything else I can do for this?
Spark. I'm totally clueless in this area. I've changed the spark plugs but not really sure how else i would check for spark..I'll try to some research on this. any quick info would be great.
Thanks.

does it seem like the starter does not have enough torque to turn the engine over?

hmm. I didn't get that impression. it spins pretty good. It almost sounds like its about to turn over but doesn't. Some instances it would makes sounds of turning over but not often. Does the starter lose torque after time?
I'm also using the HF spark plug wires..figured they're the same, not sure if that would do anything.

I was able to get it started. Just kept on cranking the motor and finally started. I changed the cap and rotor before this. but not sure if that had anything to do with it, the old one still looked good. thanks for the help.
now need to swap the front brakes, master cylinder, brake booster, coilovers, rear sway, si seats, steering wheel, fix rusted quarter, paint, tires. and i'm ready to enter HIN 2007.
