Default ls/vtec engine coolant temperature sensor

Hey guys, Im pretty new to this forum. I have a question about my ls/vtec setup. I have a 90 crx that had a b16a1 in it, on a pr3 ecu. I got a b18 block and rebuilt it for boost. About 3 weeks ago I got the b16 head on the block and it back in the car. Now the b16 block has a spot for the cts(engine coolant temperature sensor) on the rear of the back near the fan sensor and oil pressure port. But on the b18 it is not there, I believe its supposed to be in the thermo housing? But I just have the sensor plugged into the wiring harness and not in a spot(floating in the engine bay) and of course Im throwing a code 6. So I was just wondering where the heck to put it. On the b16 its a single wire connection, I think on the b18 its a two wire connection? not sure, but any help would be great. Heres some pics of my setup, thanks for looking.

The b18 built for boost sittin on the stand.

The plugged b16 head.

The engine in the car!

Default Re: ls/vtec engine coolant temperature sensor (g2nick)

the ect sensor is a sensor on the head. If it's unplugged it throws code 6.
that switch on the back of the block enegizes the radiator fan.
