VX trouble.
my buddy just got a 95 VX.
it has a really bad idle. no CEL, or anything.
i cant find a vaccume leak anywhere, also the cat isnt hooked up, so right after the downpipe of the header it is open exhaust.
any ideas?

the cat on a VX is below the manifold not under the car and the o2 is on the top of the exaust manifold so i doubt its the lack of exaust making it idle bad........
plugs, plug wires, valve cover tube gaskets, shitty gas,cap rotor, dist bearings. theres alot that could make it run rough and not throw a CEL

also with an open header, every little variation in your idle is going to be REALLY apparent,
cuz it's so loud..
What exactly is wrong with the idle ?
First things i'd do, check all timing,
then play with the iacv and fast idle.
(plug up their respective holes in the tb with ur finger, while its idling and see if it fixes the prob, and you can unplug the iacv and see if that affects it as well).
