a friend of mine has a gt40r turbo. the exhaust wheel was damaged. the person who supplied it to him said that they cannot repair the turbo, so he needs to purchase a completely new cartridge. is this true or BS?

 

I know for sure that the GT BB series cannot be rebuilt, even when I sent mine in for warranty, they put in a brand new cartridge. Hope that helps some.

 

I thought I read that precision can repair the garrett BB turbos. I'd check with them.

It can be repaired only slightly if it was just an end of a wheel. Otherwise the cartridge has to be totally replaced.
