you could try uncompressing the spring until it hits the plate it sits on, and then try loosening the nut a little. Then you could compress the spring and remove the nut completely.

I don't know anything, but it sounds like you need a wrench on both sides of the nut.

If you don't have air tools, you need an allen wrench that goes inside the shaft, at the top, and a 14 mm wrench to turn the nut.

this dude knows whats up for stock shocks.. if they are agx's like i think you mentioned...

the top of the shaft... above the nut should have a sort of rectangluar shape to it...

put a wrench there and one on the nut.. hold the one on the top and break the nut free.. then it will all work out

yeah allen wrench and then 14mm at the same time, kinda a pain in the ****, but i just recently changed my springs also, and had stock shocks. i've never had aftermarkets, so i assume they don't have that allen fitting on the top of them correct??

<FONT SIZE="4">NO!!!</FONT>

Do NOT grip the shaft directly with vise-grips or pliers - you WILL damage the shaft, which will in turn tear the seals and ruin your damper.

If you do try this, use a thick piece of leather or something in between the jaws of the tool and the shaft to protect it.
