Default cold air intakes for ej8 civics

in your personal opinions which cold air intakes are best for an ej8 civic? what kind of intake are you running and how much did you gain from it? thanks.

ebay intake + k&n filter... call it a day

a pipe is a pipe is a pipe.

you gain noise. nothing else. maybe .005 whp.

i have an aem intake on mine.. i am converting to stock.. ill trade you straight up for your intake system (if its stock)

ah... to the OP, i didnt see that you were in cali.

in that case you are goign to have to get a carb legal intake such as AEM or something alogn those lines.

in my hometown.. they were doing random smog checks..

consisted of getting pulled over.. driving onto ramps.. then the check your car for intake, header, cat, exhaust...

Yea I feel you man, they are cracking down hard here too.

You should get an AEM intake arm (I've seen them go cheap on ebay) and a good filter and you are set

I picked up a generic intake from a guy selling some on the h-t marketplace forums for 35 bucks. Works good for what i paid for. Cousing of mine has a aem and it feel the same. Just get the correct diameter and a good filter, that's all that really matters.Why i say this? Well because i bought a cheap ebay intake and i didn't know ish about diameter requirements. I ended up getting a 3 in diameter intake, it lost power instead of gaining, the only thing that it gained was noise. My 2 cents

and when you get pulled over you can have fun explaining to the cop what you have under the hood and how its not carbd

Now why would they stop me? They have never stopped me before(knock on wood). And i had a loud exhaust before, now i am more sleeper .
