test pipe
I've got a 94 Gs-r that I took off the cat and was told was clogged. I gutted out the cat and clened it up and reinstalled it. I t made a noticeable difference in my car. I haven't had any check engine lights, and was thinking of putting a pipe in the cat to make it flow better. I'd put it right up to the O2 sensor, but keep the sensor on. what do you guys think?
I wouldn't get a test pipe. Just get a cat converter cause
1. Test pipe is illegal in most states and the fine is HUGE.
2. Test pipe makes your car sounds high pitched and raspy.
3. Test pipes make your car smell like gas.

just get a carsound hi flow cat.

Though you say you felt a difference after gutting the cat, that is probably just b/c it was clogged. A cat that is fuctioning as it should would flow "better" than a gutted cat since their is a great amount of turbulance created in the now gutted cat. Carsound is the way to go if you replace it, which you should. You won't throw any codes b/c you have no sensors after your exhaust manifold due to the OBD1 your car pocesses.
