A lot of blowby.. high oil pressure at the turbo??
I messed up my motor real bad about 2 weeks ago. i did a compression test and one cylinder was 60 and another was 120 and the other two were 185. well my question is that my turbo was smoking alot so i decided to rebuild it. after i rebuilt it i bolted it up and it was still smoking like a chimney. then today i got a used t3/t4 that was in good condition no shaft play and was clean and it had no sines of blown seals. so i bolted this up and started it and even more smoke!! so im guessing with major blow-by i am getting is giving WAY to much oil pressure at the turbo and it is just getting past the seals. Could this be true or do i just have realy bad luck? i am going to try an oil restrictor tomorrow, but the reason i am driving it is because i need to get back and forth to work to get a new motor..

your motor is at ~30% compression in one cylinder. a new turbo is not going to help with your blowby. LOL

i did not make it clear. my question was with all the blowby i am getting will that make my oil pressure high enough to make my turbo burn oil?? yes i know i have cracked ringlands but i have to drive my car for a few more weeks to get to work. and no the smoke is coming from the turbo because i started it up open mani and there was no smoke, and the plugs are dry.

Yes, excessive crankcase pressure (blowby) can prevent the turbo return line from emptying quick enough and the oil can back up in the turbo and leak/smoke.

I know exactly how you feel. not having a daily driver sucks ***, I had the same thing happen to me. Dont get a restrictor, just try to fix the ringlands soon and deal with the smoke for a while. I hope the cops where you are arent ******** about it. I got pulled over cause my car was smoking like a bitch once. Sorry my post didnt really help you that much at all, I need to go back to sleep
