Brake Master Cylinder Question
Recently I had a sponge-feeling,keep-sinking brake pedal after a complete stop so I think the Brake Master Cylinder is going and started looking for one. Upon researching on the Master Cylinder sizes thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=928201. My car is a 93 Civic 4dr EX w/ABS and what the size thread is saying agreed to what I found online.
1"
46100-SR3-833
- 92-95 Civic EX ABS (4-DR)
- 94-95 Civic EX ABS (2-DR)
- 94 Civic Si ABS (3-DR)
- 94-95 Civic LX ABS (4-DR)
- 95-97 del Sol ABS
I decided to check out the condition of my current brake master cylinder before ordering one which costs around $200
. Giving me a stunt, I found out that my current brake master cylinder is a 15/16.
1) How can a 15/16 brake master cylinder fit into the place where a 1" supposes to sit?
2) My ABS light stayed on the first day I got the cars two years ago. Could my current brake master cylinder actually be a non-ABS and causing the light to come on because of malfunctioning?
3) Can some of you guys help me to check your brake master cylinder if your car is sharing the same brake master cylinder as listed above? I just want to verify if it is indeed a 1" ...
4) How can I find out if it is a ABS master cylinder or not?
Thank you very much

The size of the master cylinder doesnt matter. As long as the two bolts line up, you can fit any master cylinder on any brake booster.

Don't have that car, so I'm no help here.

I don't think it matters. Though I'm not sure.

If I found no leak, can the brake master cylinder still be bad? How do I test if it is bad?
Thanks
