Question about 93 Civic EX 4dr w/ABS Brake Master Cylinder
I recently experienced a brake fade. It braked fine in any speed but when I came to a total stop, the brake pedal will keep sinking if I press on it hard. It will become firm again if I release and press on it again but it will start fading 1 second later. So I researched a bit and think properly it is the brake cylinder quitting.
Question 1: What is the possiblity of Master Cylinder failure vs. Booster failure? Just don't want to buy the Master Cylinder and it comes out to be the Booster.
Question 2: For being 4-wheel-disc brake w/ABS, The price for the master cylinder is $208http://www.slhondaparts.com/br...=true, which is a lot to a student like me. I am planning to buy some used newer year model integra's brake cylinder. Does all Integra (LS/RS/GSR) come with ABS so I can pick up any brake cylinder for integra or ?
Thanks

1) Sounds like your booster is fine, if the booster was bad the pedal would be stiff like a car w/ manual brakes. Cars with manual brakes take alot of effort to push the pedal. You can also check the booster by pressing the pedal w/ the engine off, if the pedal firms up then there's no leak.
2) Not all G3 Integra's had ABS, the RS model did not have ABS and uses a smaller master cyl. w/ different hard line configurations.
