so i was driving today and i was waiting in a red light when it suddenly just turned off....it was driving perfect ever since i bought it....which was like 2 years ago...i own a 98 gsr....luckily it turned on and it didnt give me any more problems so far....i just hope it's something not serious

 

Do you have a killswitch? I had a killswitch that would run super hot during the summer and the fuel pump would cut out on me. I got sick of dying at stoplights, so I rewired everything back to normal and just got theft added to my insurance.

 

I have noticed that when I go to hit the fuel cut switch after driving for awhile that it is really hot. I hope I don't have any problems with it down the road. This is already the second switch, maybe I should invest in a better one that won't overheat.

did you use a relay?

 

I just wired a switch straight to the fuel pump wire that runs by the fuse box. I you use a switch that cant handle the volts or amps, it will fail on you in time. I had my switch in my ashtray by the steering wheel, and it was HOT after driving for a while. It eventually melted into the on position, and then would cut out randomly after that. You have been warned.

 

I don't think you have a kill switch or anything but try checking your spark plugs and distributor, what time mine went out pop the Distributor Cap and a bunch off cooper was in it.
