I was wondering how much it will cost to have my tranny rebuilt it keeps grinding gears and popping out of 5th gear. It is a b16 tranny and the snychros are messed up.

 

it will be easier to replace the gearbox with a used unit. the parts and labor can vary quite a bit depending on what you find damaged or worn inside the case.

 

you get what you pay for... friend of mine found some good deal on a rebuild cost him almost 1200$ CAD 2 months down the road.. 2nd and 3rd were messed and he needed a new tranny. It's also very hard to tell with tranny's unless you drive them keep your eyes peeled for a used tranny with little mileage.. i've seen em pop up every now and then
