kappa's are 2 ohm make sure your amp is 2 ohm stable and the 2 ohm rating does not exceed their power handling. and yeah my vote would be the kappa's, but both companies are very good.

are those the same?</TD></TR></TABLE> Same as what, as you are replying to me I will say they are not the same.
If you mean the same as these... http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Q...607CS I would say yes, [model number being the same] but maybe you where just being redundant, and the price was the issue, however you may want to read the fine print under warranty, Crutchfield is an authorized dealer for Infinity and etronics is not

</TD></TR></TABLE>Both sets linked are the same speaker, the point Mik3 was trying to make was that they were cheaper at etronics.com then at Crutchfield I just pointed out that unlike Crutchfield, etronics is not an authorized Infinity dealer, so you will get no manufacturers warranty.

But the Infinity's out of the two are the better purchase right? I mean, it seems as though I'll need a good healthy amp right? What kind should I get? I'm not too experienced in the stereo section.

FCM i may be wrong but most amps if you convert from 4 ohm to 2 ohm wont double your power rating. You will lose a percentage when dropping ohmage. As far as the infinity speakers they are definately a good choice. One problem with the component speakers are a metallic sound coming from the tweeter, which you can hopefully remedy by either using the switch (if provided) or placing the tweeter speaker wires in the -2db slot. This will tone the tweeter down.
The one question is will it fit without spacers.

They will not fit the oem mount without the "mounting ring", [supplied] but then I would not recommend mounting them to the oem plastic speaker housing anyway, I would recommend custom MDF housings to replace the plastic ones.

A speaker will always sound better mounted to wood then the same speaker mounted to just about anything else, also an MDF housing would have a lot more mass, [better bass response], and it can be made to fit the speaker exactly.

So what's the better amp choice? (Note: I'll probably pick up a 10in sub).

This one would work for the high-pass and the low-pass as long as the sub you get is a 250-275 watt continuous into a 4 ohm load... http://www.infinitysystems.com/carau...er=REF&Cat=AMP

Sorry link will not work, it's the Infinity REF5761A a 6ch amp.
