Default cam questions

i have a 97 del sol w/ a d16y8i/h/e. i recently purchased a comp cam stage 1.
im goin to get a cam gear and timing belt.
i was wondering would it be bad to throw it in w/o any new valvetrain?
also how hard is this to do? how long would this take?

stage 1 is a pretty decent camshaft, but you need to find out the specs on the camshaft to determine if you need a new valvetrain, it would be idealistic to have a new valve train if the camshaft can rev higher than stock and makes more power in a certain region than stock you will want to rev to that point and if your stock valvetrain doesnt permit you to do so you are screwed... so look into the duration and the rpm it makes power at and lift and all that and go from there
